R6 Marketplace: Is It Back? Status and History
The R6 Marketplace is still closed. Ubisoft took it offline on 27 December 2025, and as of 28 October 2026 it has not come back. Ubisoft's latest word on it, a post from 30 June 2026, says the Marketplace stays closed while the team rebuilds the systems behind it, calls that a long-term effort, and gives no return date.
This page explains what the Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace was, why it went down, what Ubisoft has actually said since, and how to avoid the many fake "marketplace" sites that appeared after it closed. We stick to what Ubisoft's own channels confirm and say clearly where something is not confirmed.
What the Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace was
The Marketplace was Ubisoft's official place for players to trade cosmetics with each other. You could list an item you owned, such as a weapon skin, and other players could buy it with R6 Credits, the premium currency. Ubisoft ran it and took a cut of each sale.
According to the season data SiegeRadar stores for every season:
- Y8S4 Operation Deep Freeze (started 6 December 2023) introduced "Marketplace item trading (beta)".
- Y9S2 Operation New Blood (started 11 June 2024) brought the "Marketplace full release".
- Y9S3 Operation Twin Shells (started 10 September 2024) said new items would be added to the Marketplace.
Some sites say the Marketplace launched with Siege X in June 2025. Siege X did arrive with Y10S2 Operation Daybreak on 10 June 2025, but Ubisoft's own season descriptions place the Marketplace beta and full release earlier, in Y8S4 and Y9S2.
The items traded were the same kinds of cosmetics you can browse on SiegeRadar: weapon skins, charms and other operator cosmetics. Many players used it to pick up items from old bundles or events they had missed.

Why the R6 Marketplace went down
On 27 December 2025, players reported large amounts of R6 Credits they had not paid for appearing on their accounts. Ubisoft took the game and the Marketplace offline. In posts on the official @Rainbow6Game account on X, Ubisoft said that nobody would be banned for spending credits they received and that a rollback of all transactions since 11 AM UTC was underway. A follow-up post said the rollback would be followed by quality control tests to check the integrity of accounts before players were let back in.
The game itself came back after those checks. The Marketplace did not.
What Ubisoft has not done is publish a full technical explanation of how the attack worked. You will find articles naming specific causes or giving exact figures for how much currency was handed out. Those come from third parties, not from Ubisoft, so we leave them out here.
Is the R6 Marketplace back?
No. Ubisoft's most recent statement is the news post Marketplace & Economy: A New Direction, published on 30 June 2026. In short, it says:
- The Marketplace was a step forward for player trading, but since its introduction it brought security problems: account theft, botting and credit transfers. Ubisoft says a significant share of transactions were tied to malicious activity.
- It also caused economic problems: unstable prices, distorted item circulation and wider imbalance in the in-game economy.
- Reopening it as it was would bring both kinds of problems back, so it remains closed while Ubisoft rebuilds key foundations: stronger account protection, better monitoring tools and a trading system that fits a balanced economy.
- Ubisoft calls this a long-term effort and says the immediate focus is gameplay improvements.
- The post gives no return date.
So "is the R6 Marketplace back?" has a clear answer today: it is not, and Ubisoft has not said when it will be. Some sites and videos claim a set return date or a return "in Year 11". We could not find a Ubisoft post from after 30 June 2026 that confirms any date, so treat those claims as unconfirmed.
Is the R6 Marketplace down, or just for me?
If the Marketplace will not load for you, it is not your account, your connection or your platform. It has been closed for everyone since 27 December 2025. There is nothing to fix on your side, and no setting, VPN or region that opens it.
That is different from problems with the game itself. If Siege is down or your stats look stuck, see our R6 tracker status page and the guide on why an R6 tracker is not updating.
What changed instead: event packs, Masterpieces and Renown
The same 30 June 2026 post changed how some cosmetics are sold, starting in Season 3 of Year 11 (Y11S3 Operation Split Fire, which began on 1 September 2026):
- New event packs are R6 Credits only. Ubisoft named M.U.T.E. Protocol: Flesh & Metal and Rengoku as the last events where new collection packs could be bought with Renown.
- Masterpieces can be bought directly with R6 Credits, and that purchase includes event packs. Before, you had to complete the whole collection to unlock one.
- Older collections return with dual-currency options, so Renown can still be spent on them.
This matters for anyone who used the Marketplace to fill gaps in a collection. With trading closed, buying from Ubisoft directly is the only way to get these items.
R6 Marketplace credits: what happened to them
The Marketplace used R6 Credits, the same premium currency you buy in the game. There was never a separate "Marketplace credit". Ubisoft's December 2025 posts said the unauthorised credits and transactions after 11:00 UTC on 27 December were rolled back. We have not found any Ubisoft statement about refunds or payouts for items that were listed for sale when the Marketplace closed, so we can't say what happened to every open listing. If you think your account balance is wrong, contact Ubisoft Support through your Ubisoft account, not through a third-party site.
Watch out for fake R6 Marketplace sites
Since the Marketplace closed, many websites with names like "r6 marketplace" have appeared in search results. Some are guides, some show made-up "return dates", and some look a lot like an official trading page. None of them are Ubisoft's Marketplace.
A few simple rules keep your account safe:
- The real Marketplace was run by Ubisoft, under your Ubisoft account. Any site on a domain other than ubisoft.com that claims to be the Marketplace, or to trade Siege items, is not Ubisoft's.
- Never enter your Ubisoft email, password or two-step code on a site that is not Ubisoft's. Ubisoft itself named account theft as a main problem with trading.
- Ignore offers to buy, sell or "transfer" credits or skins outside the game. Ubisoft named credit transfers as one of the reasons the Marketplace is closed.
- Check news on Ubisoft's own channels: the Rainbow Six Siege news page on ubisoft.com and the @Rainbow6Game account. If a return is real, it will be announced there first.
SiegeRadar is not affiliated with Ubisoft and does not offer trading, prices or valuations. We do not give advice on what items are worth.
Browse Siege cosmetics without the Marketplace
You can still look up the items that used to be traded:
- The R6 weapon skins list shows every universal skin in our game data, with rarity, where it came from and whether it is still available.
- The R6 charms list groups every charm by bundle and event.
- Each operator page lists that operator's loadout, so you can see which weapons a skin fits.
And if you want to see how you are doing in ranked while you wait, search your name on the home page or check the ranked leaderboard.
FAQ
Is the R6 Marketplace back?
No. It has been closed since 27 December 2025. As of 28 October 2026, Ubisoft has not reopened it or given a return date.
Why is the R6 Marketplace down?
Ubisoft took it offline on 27 December 2025 after unauthorised credits appeared on player accounts. On 30 June 2026 Ubisoft said it stays closed because of security problems such as account theft, botting and credit transfers, and because it unbalanced the in-game economy.
When did the R6 Marketplace come out?
Marketplace item trading started as a beta in Y8S4 Operation Deep Freeze (December 2023), and the full release came with Y9S2 Operation New Blood (June 2024).
When will the R6 Marketplace return?
Ubisoft has not said. Its 30 June 2026 post calls the rebuild a long-term effort and gives no date, so any specific return date you see elsewhere is unconfirmed.
Are R6 marketplace websites safe?
The only real Marketplace was Ubisoft’s own. Sites on other domains that claim to be the R6 Marketplace or to trade Siege items are not Ubisoft’s, so never sign in to them with your Ubisoft account.
